  • Where is Unique Escapes located?
    We are located on 35 beautiful acres in Monticello, New York less than 2 hours from NYC. Our location in the Southern Catskills is also close to some of our favorite places such as the Resort Worlds Catskills Casino​, Kartrite Indoor Waterpark​, Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun, golf courses, bowling alleys, restaurants, breweries, vineyards, distilleries, and more!   • What makes up a Glamping Dome?
    Our four glamping domes have everything you need from Wi-Fi to a smart TV to a private outdoor firepit with swinging chairs & more. Some of the amenities for each of our domes include: a minimum of two queen beds, a full indoor private bathroom, full kitchenette, dining room table & chairs, outdoor grill, games, and more!
  • What is included in the glamping domes?
    All beds will have fresh bed linens waiting for you, as well as bath towels, biodegradable shower products, and basic kitchen wares. All cabins have their own outdoor space with a fire pit and sitting area and a complimentary allotment of firewood.
  • What is there to do on site?
    Our unique location has plenty to do onsite plus you don't have to travel far to visit nearby Casinos, Golf Courses, Restaurants, Wineries & Breweries. Our grounds are surrounded by a beautiful forest and a stream. We also have a wide selection of indoor board games and outdoor games such as Kanjam, Spike Ball, Footballs and more!   • Is Unique Escapes dog friendly?
    Of course! we consider our furry friends family so they are more than welcome to join you on your stay with us. However, we have reserved our "Modern Luxury" dome to remain allergy-free. Dogs are allowed on our other three domes for an additional small cleaning fee which must be added at checkout when you book through our website. All dogs must be on a leash when outside and we ask that you do not leave your dog unattended. We also ask that you do not leave them inside the domes alone if you leave the area and to always clean up all dog waste during your visit.
  • Are there any other rules I should know about before booking?
    Safety is of the utmost importance to us. That is why we have some quick reminders to keep all of our guests safe while enjoying their stay. Never leave a campfire unattended, never leave food and/or trash outside, and no pitching tents. We also ask that guests be respectful of all other Unique Escape visitors and keep all noise and music to a low level. Entering our woods is not advised unless you are highly experienced in natural forest safety and navigation. Our woods are a functioning ecosystem, so animals small and large still call it home such as bears, deer, and boars. There are public hiking trails both walking and driving distance from our property.
  • What should I pack?
    We try to have it all to make your stay as convenient as possible, but we suggest that you bring overnight essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste, toiletries), clothing, and anything you can’t live without. We offer complimentary bath products: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap as well as dish soap. We ask that you please use these as they are septic safe. Our domes also include an activity book, playing cards, and board games inside each dome. Outdoor games such as footballs, kanjam, spike ball, frisbee, and more are available. We offer an allotment of Nespresso pods and ground coffee as well as basic cooking seasoning: salt and pepper, cookware, and dishware. If you'd like to cook during your stay we recommend stopping by our local grocery stores, but there are also plenty of restaurants nearby.
  • Can I use my own shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap?
    In order to keep our water potable (drinkable) we require that all guests use the eco-friendly and biodegradable products that can be found inside each dome.
  • What about cooking?
    Each dome is stocked with cooking essentials for use during your stay with us. This includes a two-burner hot plate, a mini-fridge, dining ware, silverware, a can opener, electric kettle, a pot, a pan, cooking/grilling utensils, kitchen knives, a Nespresso machine with pods, tea bags, and cooking basics (salt, pepper). Paper towels and dish soap are also provided. Feel free to cook inside on the hot plates, outside on the electric grill on your deck (charcoal/propane NOT needed!), or outside over the fire, but please limit pot and pan use to the stove top only. Please note that if a burn ban is in effect, no outdoor cooking is allowed.
  • How do I get to my dome?
    Finding your dome is easy! We have one large driveway and each of the four glamping domes has a sign with the dome name on it. Just drive along the driveway until you find the sign that has the name of the dome that you booked and you are there. Parking spots are available in front of your dome. Detailed instructions about your particular dome will also be sent to you after booking. We highly recommend that you drive there, but our location is also accessible via public transit. To get to our campground from NYC via public transit, take Coach Short Line Bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal to Monticello NY (1 hour and 55 minutes by bus) and then take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi from the Monticello Bus Station to 17 Gartner Road (7 minutes by taxi). To purchase a Coach Short Line Bus ticket click here. Note that Ubers and Lyfts are hard to find in the area so you will most likely need to use a local taxi. We are currently in the midst of forming partnerships with some of the local taxi companies. Once we do, be sure to use our promo code “Unique Escapes” for discounted rides.   • How do check in and check out work?
    Check in begins at 4 PM (you can check in at any time after) and check out is at 11 AM. In your booking confirmation email you will receive a booking summary which includes your check in date, your check out date, our exact location, and your dome name. On the day prior to or morning of your check in you will receive an email and/or text message with your personalized entry code which is required to unlock the door to your dome. Once you reach your dome, simply enter the code on the door and begin to disconnect. When it comes time to head back to the real world, be sure to lock the door before you go.
  • Do you have early check in and/or late checkout?
    Yes we do, so long as it does not interfere with our other guests stays. If you would like to request either an early check in or a late check out, please email us at and we will do our best to accommodate you. As a reminder, unless otherwise explicitly granted by our team, check in is at 4 PM and check out is at 11 AM.
  • Can I use the campfire?
    Yes, of course! We encourage our guests to enjoy time around their private campfires. Please note that if there is a burn ban in effect, our team will email and/or text you the day of to notify you, and no campfires are allowed that day. Fire bans happen occasionally due to wildfire worries at the state or county level. Burning fires of any kind are not permitted during burn bans. There are no exceptions to our rescheduling/cancellation policies while the fire bans are active, and by booking a Unique Escape, guests agree to this policy.
  • Is firewood available at our Unique Escape domes?
    Yes, we have an allotment of local firewood available at each dome. If you require additional firewood beyond what is provided, nearby grocery stores (less than a 10 minute drive) have selections of wood, fire starters, and more.
  • Is there cell phone reception at the cabins?
    Because of the secluded nature of our campground, cell phone service may be a little spottier than normal. However, we do provide Wi-Fi in each of our glamping domes. In case of an emergency, if you are not able to get service to call 911 but do have Wi-Fi, be sure to turn on Wi-Fi calling on your phone, update your emergency address to 17 Gartner Road, Monticello NY 12701, and then call 911.
  • Do you have onsite parking?
    Yes, each dome has its own parking spaces for up to two vehicles, so all guests are able to park right next to their dome. Additional parking is possible along the driveway, but please be mindful of our landscaping and to not obstruct driving space. Note that if you need accessible parking spaces be sure to book the "Nature Lovers" dome, as that is our only dome with accessible parking.
  • Are other domes nearby?
    Our campground features a collection of four domes with approximately 150 to 200 feet between one another. For added privacy, there are thick bushes between each campsite which also helps to provide for a nice natural seclusion.
  • How does the water supply work?
    Our campground runs on well water and we use storage tanks to ensure that everyone has the appropriate amount of water they may need. Additionally, each dome has its own hot water heater, so hot water will last. However, with that being said please be thoughtful in your consumption!
  • Is the water potable (drinkable)?
    Yes, the water is potable (drinkable) and we provide all eco-friendly and biodegradable products in each dome to ensure that it stays that way! Well water is known for being fresh and natural, so enjoy!
  • Can I set up a tent near my cabin?
    We kindly ask that guests do not set up tents on our campground in order to help preserve solitude, privacy, and the aesthetic for all of our guests.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    Booking payments are fully refundable up to 30 days prior to the reservation. Unique Escapes would be happy to refund 50% of your total booking amount 8-29 days prior to your reservation, but we will not be able to refund your payment if you cancel your booking on or less than 7 days prior to your stay.   • What if I need to reschedule my stay?
    If you need to change your dates, you will need to cancel your original booking in accordance with our cancellation policy and then you'll need to create a brand new reservation. If you would like to cancel your upcoming reservation or have if you have any questions, please email us at

  • Can I book the entire campground (all four domes)?
    If you would like to book the entire campground so that you have complete and utter privacy for you and your loved ones, please email us at and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  • Does Unique Escapes offer discounts for longer stays?
    We do! Weekly stays are discounted by 10% (7 night minimum) and your discounted rate will be automatically applied if your selected stay is at least 7 nights. Click here to book your Unique Escape!
  • How can I ensure that my dome is close to my friends dome?
    Do not worry! All domes are only a short walk from one another. If you want to ensure that your dome is located directly next to someone else in your party, then note that the sequential order of the domes from the first driveway entrance is the "Modern Luxury" dome, then the "Rose All Day" dome, followed by the "007" dome, and finally the "Nature Lovers" dome.
  • Can I use a promo code?
    Active promo codes can be used toward any future booking, however promo codes cannot be retroactively applied to existing reservations (they must be applied at initial checkout). Promo codes cannot be applied to rescheduled reservations after a promotion ends, or applied to gift card purchases.
  • How are the domes secured?
    Unique Escape domes are fully equipped with a secure door that can only be unlocked with a personalized entry code. Our domes are placed on plots of land where wildlife and insects are present, so please keep in mind that you are responsible for taking appropriate safety measures. This includes but is not limited to putting food away, keeping the campground clean, securing your personal items, and using bug spray.
  • Do you have any accessible domes?
    Yes, one of the four domes is accessible! This dome features accessible parking spaces, a ramp into your dome, accessible cooking, dining, living, and sleeping areas, and an accessible bathroom. The only accessible dome with accessible parking spaces is the "Nature Lovers" dome, so if you need an accessible space be sure to book it.
